GERMANTOWN, Maryland, USA - In 1997 the Bureau of Census contracted with IBM to have the Armonk, NY-based technology company develop, implement and run American FactFinder. IBM has retained Fenestra Technologies Corporation to help prepare printed reports for American FactFinder, the electronic system for accessing and disseminating U.S. Census Bureau data over the Internet.
More than 1,000 tables and 52 books summarizing 2000 Decennial Census data will be generated in this project. The Generalized Instrument Design System (GIDS) software, built by Fenestra for the 2002 Economic Census, will be modified to support the Decennial Census publishing phase.
The technology streamlines collecting, capturing, extracting, analyzing and presenting huge amounts of content in a variety of customized forms and reports across multiple paper and online channels.
